How to Heal Shoulder Ligaments

- 1). Rest the ligament. Avoid activities that cause the ligament and shoulder area pain. Discuss your current shoulder use with your doctor and modify your daily activities. Rest is essential for quick and proper healing of the shoulder.
- 2). Regularly take an anti-inflammatory. A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as aspirin or ibuprofen will reduce pain and swelling associated with the injury. Take one dose every six hours for lasting pain.
- 3). Perform rehabilitation exercises. A physical therapist can work with you to strengthen the muscles and ligaments around the shoulder to provide increased stability. Exercises can usually be performed at home but require consistency and patience.
