Disinfecting Surfaces

• 1). Mix three parts water to at least seven parts rubbing alcohol. Use a 70- to 99-percent alcohol dilution, depending on desired strength.

  Fill a spray bottle with alcohol mixture.
  
  
• 3). Spray mixture on counter tops, sinks, shower surfaces, toilets and kitchen appliances, and wipe off with a damp cloth.
  
  
• 4). Spray onto carpets and upholstery and let air dry.
  
  

Disinfecting the Floor

• 1). Fill bucket with diluted alcohol, from 70- to 99-percent alcohol.
  
  
• 2). Submerge mop into bucket and wring out slightly.

  Mop tile, vinyl, linoleum or laminate flooring.
  
  
• 4). Rinse and repeat until the entire area is clean.

Disinfecting Skin Before an Injection

• 1). Moisten cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.
  
  
• 2). Rub on skin at injection site.
  
  
• 3). Allow to dry a few seconds before administering shot.
  
  

Disinfecting Salon Equipment

• 1). Fill a tall container with an alcohol dilution.

  Store plastic combs and scissors in the solution.
