How to Charter a Jet

    • 1). Locate a local airport that has jet service in it. On the airport will be fixed base operators, or flight departments, where jets are hangered. Begin by figuring out how many people you have traveling, how much luggage and the destination. This all will allow you to figure out the size of the airplane you will need.

    • 2). Discuss your options with the manager of the flight department. He or she will give you a list of all available planes that will suit your needs. if you are traveling overseas, he will take you passports, visas and itinerary and make sure you are up to date for both and exit and an entry in to customs. They will then set up your flight plan, time of departure, aircraft and crew. Options of catering, drinks and some form of entertainment are offered. Arranging for whether a pick up by the crew or for the crew to stay and wait are given as well. If they will be staying, accommodation arrangements will be made. A manifest list of how much weight you are are going to pack will also be needed.

    • 3). Arrive at least an hour before you are scheduled to depart. This will allow time to pack and load the aircraft. You will also get a chance to meet the crew and go over final details. You will check the catering and the beverages.

    • 4). Take off and enjoy the vacation. You details are all set up and it is time to relax.
