Using Automatic Code Search

• 1). Turn on the device that you wish to program your remote to. Press and hold the button on your remote that corresponds to the device you are programming it to. (I.e., if you are programming your remote to work with your DVD player, press and hold the "DVD" button). Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button while holding the device button until the LED light on your remote lights up. Release both buttons.
  
  
• 2). Point your remote at the device you are programming it to and press the "Play" button. Your remote will now start blinking as it scans for the correct program code. Allow five seconds for this process to finish.
  
  
• 3). Repeat this process until the device you are trying to control turns off. Press the "Reverse" button until your device turns back on.
  
  
• 4). Press the "Stop" button to finish the remote control programming process.
  
  

Using Direct Code Entry

• 1). Open your Web browser on your computer and navigate to a page that provides the programming codes for your device. Remote Codes is a good website for this. It provides users with links to websites with remote codes for all major electronic brands.
  
  
• 2). Locate the remote codes for your device. Keep this list handy while you are going through the programming process.
  
  
• 3). Turn on the device that you wish to program your remote to. Press and hold the device button on your remote that corresponds to the device you wish to control. While holding the device button, input the programming code for your device using your remote's number pad.
  
  
• 4). Release the device button. Press the "ON/OFF" button. If your device responds, you have successfully programmed your remote to work with that device. If it does not, repeat this process with all of the programming codes for your device until your device responds.
