Learn what safe household cleaning products can do for the health of your family.

Before I discuss the long-term effects of exposure to toxic chemicals in cleaning and personal care products, I want to make 2 points that I think are important. First, the different diseases and conditions linked to chemical exposure are usually the result of long term exposure. Just as one cigarette is not likely to give you cancer, one non-acute exposure to chemicals in cleaners probably won't harm you either.  But, we're talking about many different products: your mouthwash, conditioner, cologne or perfume, laundry, detergent, window cleaner, and so on. When you consider all the products and all the chemicals you come across each day, you can begin to understand the potential for long term harm. Safe household cleaning products do not offer these long term effects.

Second point concerns your body. What most doctors and scientists who investigate and treat chemical related illness contend is that the amount of chemical a person is exposed to is not as important as how sensitive a person might be. It all depends on a person's size and weight and the strength of their detox system.

It's alarming but true—scientists and doctors have discovered that there is a connection between our health and the use of common everyday household chemicals. If yours is a typical home, you probably use dozens of cleaning and personal care products, purchased at the local grocery store, which contain chemical ingredients that could be harmful to your health and the health of your loved ones. There are safe household cleaning products.

When we pick up products at the local grocery store, most of us like to think we are getting something that has been tested and proven to be safe. Do you read the labels on cleaning and personal product's? Safe household cleaning products do not have such ingredient as kerosene, phenol, sulfuric acid, lye, cresol hydrochloric acid, ammonia,  to name a few.

Chemicals that can cause death, cancer, central nervous system and many other health problems appear in most of the cleaning and personal care products in our homes.

The household of the 21st Century has a unique opportunity to say "NO" to these harsh synthetic chemicals that are slowly poisoning our planet. While we still have natural, biodegradable commodities we have a choice—a greener choice that can not only assist in healing our bodies, but can also safely cleanse all around our homes too, quite literally from basement to attic. Safe household cleaning products can make a difference.
