Not only is infant baptism unnecessary, it is an abomination. Only children who have come to an age of being accountable for their sins need baptism. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the minimum age a child can be baptized is at eight.
When Mormon (who abridged The Book of Mormon) asked the Lord about it, this was God's reply:
