How to Block Calls on an Alltel Cell Phone

    • 1). Contact your wireless provider. Register online at VerizonWireless.com to manage blocking services, or call customer service by either dialing *611 from your cell phone or calling 800-922-0204 from another phone. If you are in one of the few remaining Alltel markets, go to Alltel.com and type in your ZIP code for contact information.

    • 2). Provide your carrier with the caller's name or phone number you want blocked. In addition to blocking individual numbers, you may block all restricted, unavailable and private numbers, as well as outgoing calls to directory assistance.

    • 3). Download a call-blocking smart phone application. If your Alltel cell phone is a BlackBerry device, choose from PrivacyManager Call Block from BlackBerry App World or the many third-party applications in the CrackBerry App Store. Follow your device's user manual to download and install apps.

    • 4). Register your mobile number in the National Do Not Call Registry. This may help block most telemarketing calls. Call the Federal Trade Commission at 888-382-1222 or visit DoNotCall.gov.
