Royal Caribbean Cancellation Policy
- Guests will receive a full refund from Royal Caribbean if a one- to five-night cruise is canceled 60 days or more before the sail date. Guests who cancel 59 to 30 days prior to departure will forfeit the per-person deposit. Cancellations made 29 to eight days before sailing will result in a penalty of 50 percent of the total price per person, excluding taxes and fees. Guests who cancel within seven days of the cruise departure will only receive a refund for the taxes and fees paid.
- Six- to nine-night Royal Caribbean cruises must be canceled at least 70 days before the sail date for guests to receive a full refund, and guests who cancel 69 to 30 days prior to departure will lose their deposit. Cancellations made 29 to eight days before sailing will result in a 50 percent reimbursement plus taxes and fees. Guests who cancel seven days or less before the sail date will only be refunded the amount of the taxes and fees.
- Full refunds will be given to Royal Caribbean guests who cancel 10-night or longer cruises within 70 days of departure. Guests who cancel 69 to 30 days prior will be penalized the amount of the deposit. Cancellations made 29 to 15 days before sailing result in a 50 percent penalty, excluding taxes and fees. Guests who cancel 14 nights or less before departure will only be refunded the taxes and fees paid.
- Cancellations to Royal Caribbean specialty restaurant reservations made at least 10 days before departure will be refunded to the credit card that was used for payment. Passengers who cancel specialty restaurant reservations within four days of departure or once on-board will receive reimbursement via their shipboard account. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the reservation time will be subject to a minimum fee of $10. Wine & Beverage package cancellations can be made within four days of departure and are fully refundable. Shore Excursions must be canceled prior to the closing deadline advised on-board the ship in order to receive a refund.
- Royal Caribbean offers the CruiseCare Cancellation Penalty Waiver, which can help guests recover their money if they have to cancel or interrupt their cruise for a covered reason, as outlined in the plan's terms and conditions. If the cancellation is due to a non-covered reason, the guest may be able to receive future cruise credits valued at up to 75 percent of the cruise cost. This waiver must be purchased before the final cruise payment is made. Several independent companies also offer travel insurance to protect against the costs associated with a cruise cancellation.
