Connect the supplied AC power adapter to the PV10 but don't turn it on. - 2). Connect the input cables. If using a microphone, connect with an XLR cable into the channel input. If connecting an instrument such as electric guitar, use a 1/4-inch jack cable. Use one channel per instrument.
- 3). Turn down the "Master Volume" dial. It always pays to turn on any audio device with the master volume minimized. This means that you have total control over the output from the beginning.
- 4). Connect a 1/4-inch jack balanced cable to each of the "Left" and "Right" output jacks on the rear of the mixer. Connect the other end of each to a powered speaker or amplifier, depending on the configuration of the public address system.
- 5). Turn on the PV10. The power switch is on the rear.
- 6). Slide each channel gain slider dial up to around halfway. For channels that you are not using, leave the slider dial at zero.
- 7). Have a singer or guitarist sing or play. Gradually increase the master volume until it reaches an audible level.
- 8). Turn each of the three channel equalizer dials to the center. Use this as a starting point for tweaking the tone of the channel. The equalizer dials let you cut and boost frequencies to enhance the sound of the instrument. There is no right or wrong way to do this, it's a matter of preference. Provided there is no feedback and the sound is audible, be guided by what sounds good to you.

Connect a USB cable to the USB port on the rear of the PV10. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on the computer. - 2). Turn on the computer. The PV10 is phantom-powered when a USB device is connected. This means it draws its power from the connected device and doesn't require an external power connection.
- 3). Connect an instrument or microphone, one per channel. Turn the mixer on.
- 4). Open your preferred digital audio workstation, such as Pro Tools or Logic. The mixer will otherwise have no interface to communicate with. Open the device management menu. The specific name and location of this menu varies according to which program you use, but it is typically located under the "Settings" menu. Once you've opened the device manager menu, select "Peavey PV10" from the drop-down menu to assign the mixer as the primary input device.
- 5). Tweak the tone and volume using the three-band equalizer, channel gain and master volume dials.
