Fredericksburg, Texas, is one hour northeast of San Antonio and is home to more than 11,000 individuals. The town was founded in 1846 by Baron Otfried Hans von Meusebach and is the county seat of Gillespie County. The city hosts several events locally for visitors and residents alike to enjoy. - The Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival is held annually in the Downtown Marktplatz and features a gumbo cook-off along with red beans and rice, boudin, corndogs, hamburgers and German sausage. The two-day event features games, shopping, live bands and arts and crafts for attendees to enjoy. There is even a kids fun area for children to play and have fun.
- Fredericksburg Area Lodging and Hospitality Association hosts the Tour and Savor Fredericksburg event held to showcase Fredericksburg and Hill Country lodging, cuisine and retail providers. The event is one day only and tickets can be purchased through PayPal.
- The Texas Mesquite Association presents the Mesquite Art Festival in Fredericksburg annually in the Downtown Marktplatz. The three-day event started in 1992 and features member-created woodworkings from all around Texas. The festival presents various types of work, including dressers, doors, mantles, art, dining tables and other types of furniture.
