- 1). Open the Windows Start menu, select "All Programs," then "Accessories."
- 2). Click "Paint" to open Microsoft Paint.
- 3). Select "File," then "Open..." Locate your WMF file and click "Open." You may have to select "All Files." The WMF file will open in Microsoft Paint. Using Microsoft Paint's available tools, edit and manipulate the graphic file to your liking.
- 4). Select "File," then "Save" to save the WMF file again. You can optionally select "Save As..." and save the graphic file as a different file format, such as a JPEG or Bitmap. The JPEG image file format has become the standard and will allow you to use the graphic file with a much larger set of applications. Once saved, you can email the graphic file to friends, family or coworkers, or use it in a presentation or document or however you may see fit.
