- 1). Obtain the case number and county of the case you wish to obtain information either at the clerk of courts or online.
- 2). Locate the party names. The parties in the case are usually named as "Plaintiff v. Defendant." This section will also identify the attorneys that are representing each party.
- 3). Locate the disposition of the case to determine if the case is open or closed.
- 4). Locate motions filed. The docket will identify the date of the filing, name of the document filed and the attorney filing same.
- 5). Follow updates by viewing the docket occasionally. The docket changes as hearings and court dates occur.
