How to Block Websites on Vista

    • 1). Click "Start" and select "Control Panel" from the menu. When the feature list loads, click "Set Up Parental Controls For Any User."

    • 2). Click on the user account for which you want to block websites. If you want to keep your child from visiting certain websites, click on your child's user account. You cannot block websites for the administrator account. If the administrator account is the only account you have, click "Create a New User Account" to set up an additional account.

    • 3). Click "On, Enforce Current Settings" on the user-account page. This activates the custom settings beneath. Click on "Windows Vista Web Filter." Click on "Block Some Websites or Content." Then click "Edit the Block List."

    • 4). Type the website you wish to block (include "http://"). Click "Block" to add it to the block list. Repeat the process to add as many websites as you want. When you are finished, click "Ok" to save the changes.
