Michael Turner is well known for his great ability in creating highly detailed art for comics. He is especially famous for creating beautiful female characters.

Interesting (but unfortunate) Fact:

Michael Turner is battling a slow growing form of cancer called chondrosarcoma.

He has had multiple surgeries, removing his hip and parts of his pelvis. Even through his cancer and radiation treatments, he continues to work and draw comic books.

Bio:

Michael Turner was discovered by Marc Silverstri of Top Cow at a comic book convention and began his career as an artist there. A short time later, Turner helped to create, ?Wichblade,? which he illustrated and helped show his penchant for drawing curvy and voluptuous women. The character became very well received and made Turner a hot commodity in the comic book world.
During his time at Top Cow, Turner created concepts and storylines for the characters Fathom, Ekos, and Soulfire, but later left Top Cow to form his own studio, Aspen MLT Inc. The decision to leave with the characters caused friction between Turner and Top Cow, but was later settled out of court.

Due to a battle with cancer, however, Turner had to cease most of his comic illustrating activities and stayed out of the limelight for a few years.

With a clean bill of health, Turner plunged back into comics, working on releasing his own creator owned work as mentioned above as well as doing work on short series and covers for both Marvel and DC.

Turner continues to wow his fans with his crisp, detailed, and beautiful art style. One can make a sure bet that Turner will continue to be one of the top comic book artists out there.
