Bumper Plates and Pendlay Bars

Pendlay bars and bumper plates are extremely high quality pieces of weight lifting equipment. A lot of Olympic lifters, crossfitters, and power lifters take advantage of Pendlay bars because they are super high quality while still being very affordable to a serious weight lifter. Pendlay bars have some of the strictest procedures in the world when it comes to creating a great quality barbell. Ever have a barbell that bends permanently? Pendlay states on their site they have to date, not received one barbell back from this problem.
Pendlay Bars go through very strict tests before they are released onto the market, and I will explain some of these procedures. First, they use ultra high grade steel to make their bars. 166,000 PSI tensile strength, which is insane! However, given this strength, perhaps you are worried their won't be enough whip or flexibility in the bar to make it good for Olympic lifting? Wrong, they use specific types of processing to avoid adding anymore strength, allowing the perfect blend of super strength, and great whip for your lifting.
Some of the thought that went into this design is, I dare say, genius. A single piece collar construction, the only bar in the world to do this. A bright zinc coating throughout the bar, which absorbs into the steel and reduces the risk of chipping. This can be really important when it comes to helping the environment, because some bars out there have black zinc coating which has been banned in Europe for its detrimental effects on the environment. They have high performance gel lubricant inside each collar which makes it so no leaking will occur like in other bars that use hydraulic fluid. Perfect knurling on the Pendlay bars so your hands won't be getting torn apart.
When Pendlay bars are tested, they apply 2500 pounds of pressure in the center of the bar and deflect it six inches. The bars return to their true shape consistently, so you won't have to worry when your stacking on some serious weight! Also, the bars go through extensive heavy weight Olympic movements to mimic actual use. To date, not a single one of Pendlay Bars have been returned because of bending.
