Between alien clowns and flesh-eating demons, haunted houses offer thrill seekers a scare during the Halloween season. Within half an hour of Taylor, Michigan four haunted houses sit ready to frighten visitors with monsters, special effects and dark hallways, while others offer fall-themed foods and child-friendly special events. All raise money for good causes. - A part of Wiard's Orchards and County Fair, Night Terrors is located 30 minutes from Taylor. The haunted thrill park features 115 live monsters including caged alien clowns, a haunted hayride, labyrinth, haunted barn and asylum, as well as Scareyoke (karaoke) and live music. Wiard's Bakery offers hungry guests homemade cider, donuts and caramel apples.
- A haunted house located at the end of a night hayride, Woods of Darkness sits 20 minutes south of Taylor. Admission is $10 as of October 2010. The story behind the house claims that the evil presence of a farmer and his wife, onetime owners of the house, lurk on the premises, making themselves known while guests make their way through the dark hallways.
- Hosted by Detroit's Cass Community Social Services, Detroit Urban Legends is a two-floor haunted house that features costumed monsters and special effects. Proceeds from the haunted house go to aid homeless women and children in Detroit. The haunted house is designed for adults and children.
- Seated 26 minutes away from Taylor, Jaycees Westland's Haunted House features Sgt. Slaughter's Meat Market and the Lost Circus of Souls, attractions based around a human sacrifice theme. The house offers a Friendly Monster Day for children. The haunted house is not recommended for children under 6.
