Toyota's approach to meet family transportation for small family with kids brings Toyota lucida in marketplace.Even though its not so much gorgeous in look and not heavily luxurious ,it is chosen by many families because of its economic diesel engine.Toyota lucida was highly dominating in the market from 1990 to 1999 as most driven minivans for families.
Toyota's minivan series in other words MPV (multipurpose vehicle) series is branded Estima. There are three
brand in this series. Other than Lucida ,Toyota Estima wide bodied (called previa in Japan market and tarago in australian market) and Toyota Emina. All three minivans has lots of similar fashion and features. Main distinguishing feature is Size of vehicle. Estima wide bodied is heavy one than lucida and Emina. Lucida

Like all other regular minivans Lucida has two conventional door in front, one left sided sliding door,
and a top hing door.With a middle row seat difference lucida are available in seven seated and eight seated.
seven seated lucida has two 'captain chairs' and independent chairs with arm rest.eight seated lucida has splittable three seated bench.which can be rotated.Among new versions of Lucida some are having sliding door on both side,currently this version is being marketed in UK.
Lucida has 2184cc and 4 cylinder diesel engine with fuel consumption of 30mpg.This turbocharged engine is producing 101bhp at 4200 rpm with a maximum speed of 100mph.Gearboxes are available in two types,one of them is four speed with a override function,automated and other one is five speed manual.The main problem with manual gearbox is difference between First and second gear. First gear is much much lower than the second gear.
