The Power of Rap Music

Everybody loves music.
If you know somebody who doesn't, ask him to try experimenting with more genres and artists, and actually listen to the lyrics.
I have been in love with music my entire life, but have never truly understood the value of lyrics until recently.
In fact, it was by learning how to pay to attention to lyrics, that I finally overcame my problem of not paying attention to what others say in real life.
Too many people on this planet are under the impressions that their problems are unique, not realizing that almost every human experiences the exact same problems as them.
These problems include anxiety, heartbreak, depression, lack of direction, etc.
Everybody faces these at certain points, and most people try to just take out their issues by spreading negativity to other's lives.
This is not the way to go, because negativity is contagious, and by spreading to one person, you start a cycle of it.
But the good news is that positivity is just as, if not more, influential, except that it is not as draining and stressful.
Listening to different types of music doesn't always put us into different kinds of states, but listening to music that is in sync with our CURRENT inner state will always be most appealing, and will result in a higher magnitude of emotional change.
But, listening to music which has moved us in the past, will usually result in the same kind of change, regardless of our current states.
The reason I love Rap is because it is a way for artists to share their stories with the world, including all the pain and negativity they faced during their struggle to the top.
Not all rappers are the same, with some being the stereotypical one hit wonders that don't know how to manage their money.
The general consensus about rap is that it is all about boasting the rockstar lifestyle, but this is not the complete truth.
Listen to artists like Eminem, Jay Z,50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Dr.
Dre, Snoop Dogg, etc.
Who are the best of the best.
If you follow their music, you are literally listening to their life stories, and what they did to succeed.
These are all people who went from rags to riches, and today determine the trends followed by every adolescent on the planet.
Music has always been their outlet, with them spilling their heart and soul's into their lyrics.
When I listen to songs such as 'Cleaning out my Closet' and 'Lose Yourself' by Eminem, I can feel myself standing in his shoes, and feeling a bit of that same pain, because I know I have felt similar/the same in my own life.
I am sure this is the case with all of us, because at the end of the day we are human and are built in pretty much the same way.
I believe that by listening closely to artists like Lil Wayne, one can learn everything there is to about success.
'I see the future, its right behind your eye lids', 'You can hate me, but I stay hate free', 'No message could have been any clearer, so I am starting with the man in the mirror', 'They say we learn from mistakes, maybe that's why they mistake me'.
These are messages that I talk about consistently in my blog posts about success, and some more, which Lil Wayne sums them up in simple lines that most people never pick up.
I could go on forever with examples from just Lil Wayne, not even bringing 50 Cent and Jay Z into the picture.
Music is our way into the minds of some of the most Hard working, Struggling, Passionate, Determined, and Successful people on our planet today.
If you model yourself after them, you will live life in an entirely level of efficiency, and will find the power to overcome any obstacle or roadblock.
Understand it for what it is, and artists for whom they are, and you will be able to appreciate Music in an entirely new light.
