• Gold is often used to form dental crowns, which cover excessive damage on teeth and are formed to create the original shape and structure of teeth. Gold crowns in the back of the mouth are not as obvious as those that are placed in the front of the mouth.

• Gold bridges are sometimes used to replace one or several missing teeth. A dental bridge sits along the gumline and holds false teeth in place. Gold bridges are more often used in the back of the mouth so that they are not as noticeable.
  
  

False Teeth

• Sometimes people have whole teeth replaced with gold pieces. This is usually done to show style or status, since an entire gold tooth is simply flashier and costs more money than a fake porcelain tooth.
