How to Build Desk Legs for a Plywood Desk

    • 1). Decide on the height of your desk. Measure the thickness of the plywood desktop and subtract this from your desired height to find the length for the legs. Purchase four aluminum pipes and either cut, or have them cut, to this length.

    • 2). Turn the plywood desktop over and place it on the floor so you can access it easily. Attach one galvanized floor flange plate to each corner of the desk, using the screws that came with it. The desk legs will be secured to the plates to hold them in place.

    • 3). Slip one aluminum pipe into each floor flange. Tighten the flanges to hold the pipes in place so they won't fall out when the desk is moved. Place an end cap on the end of each aluminum pipe and tap it into place using a hammer. Turn the desk over.
