How to bypass a Firewall or Blocked Website

    • 1). Use a site like Aplusproxy where you will be able to enter the website you are trying to access. The site is either a PHP Proxy or CGI Proxy. Once the URL is entered, minus http, you will be able to access the website. When you use any proxy site you must agree that you will not use it for illegal purposes. Check the resource links at the end of this article for proxy sites.

    • 2). Another method of getting past firewalls or blocked sites is to download free proxy software. ****, JAP, and Tor are a few but you can get a ton of free proxy information at the Web Evader website (see resource link).

Using a free proxy, your IP address is masked or changed to the IP of the server that your proxy is hosted on. This gives you more protection and access past the firewall, while surfing the web anonymously.

    • 3). Get a list of a few proxy sites and from Internet Explorer go to tools - Internet Options - click the connections tab and then LAN settings. Under proxy server click the "Use a proxy server for your LAN check box and in the address box type the IP address of the proxy server. In the port box type 80 or 8080. It's not necessary to select the "bypass proxy server for local addresses" box.

Once you've completed this step your browser is now configured to browse the web through a proxy server.
