Rockford Fosgate produces high-performance audio equipment for cars. Jim Fosgate founded the company in 1973 from his garage in Arizona. During 2011, Rockford Fosgate offered three series of component speakers. Component speakers are designed to emit noises of a specific frequency. Two to four components speakers, known as a component set, are used to reproduce the complete audio spectrum. Because each component speaker specializes in frequency, it is less likely to distort.

    Prime

    • The Prime series of Rockford Fosgate speakers is designed with the novice car audio aficionado in mind. Prime series speakers can be found in full-range and component. Prime series component speakers are available in three models: R1T-S, R152-S and R1652-S. The R1T-S model is a dedicated 1-inch tweeter system. The R152-S and R1652-S models are two-way component systems. The R152-S has 5.25-inch speakers and the R-1652-S has 6.5-inch speakers. Both also include a set of tweeters. As of January 2011, pricing ranges between $59.99 and $199.99.

    Punch

    • The Rockford Fosgate Punch series is available as a full component speaker system. Three component systems are available in the mid-level Punch series: P1T-S, P152-S and P1652-S. The P1T-S system includes 1-inch tweeters and an outboard crossover. The P152-S and P1652-S models have tweeters, but also include 5.25-inch or 6.5-inch speakers with Integrated Concealed Crossovers. As of January 2011, pricing ranges between $129.99 and $259.99.

    Power

    • The Power series is Rockford Fosgate's top-of-the-line component system. The component systems are broken up into five categories: T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5. The T1T-S system kicks off the lineup and includes 1-inch tweeters with dedicated outboard crossovers. Pricing for the T1T-S starts at $249.99, as of January 2011. The T5652-S component system includes state-of-the-art, 6.5-inch speakers and cost $1,799.99, as of January 2011.
