Using an audio file converter

• 1). Download an audio file converter. The easiest way to convert an audio file from one format to another is to use a conversion program that automatically rips the file and converts it. (See "Additional Resources," below, for several audio conversion programs.)
  
  
• 2). Install the audio converter and open the program after installation is complete.
  
  
• 3). Load the WMA file that you want to convert into the program. You may have to browse for the file, or the program may allow you to drag and drop the file into the converter.
  
  
• 4). Convert the file to WAV. Any audio conversion program should have a plainly visible button to start a conversion, either in the main user interface or under a drop-down menu. After you begin the conversion, you should be given several file conversion options. Choose to convert the file to WAV, then let the converter go to work.
  
  

Using an audio editing program to convert a file

• 1). Alternatively, if you happen to have an audio editing program that can load WMA files, open that program.
  
  
• 2). Load the WMA file you want to convert into your audio editor.
  
  
• 3). Select to export/publish the audio track in a WAV format. Almost any audio editor will allow files to be saved as WAV, so if you can load a WMA file, you can probably save it as a WAV file.
