Getting Ready For School Book
Kids will usually love the idea of practicing many skills to help them get ready for school. This book will make them feel special and they can keep all their 'work' together.
- Age Guideline: 4 Years and Up
- Time Required: 20 minutes + (Does not include drying time)
The above age and time guidelines are estimates. This project can be modified to suit other ages and may take more or less time depending on your circumstances.
Materials Needed:
- 3-Ring Binder
- Loose Leaf paper (With the Binder Holes)
- Crayons, Marker, or Colored Pencils
- Stickers
Instructions:
Encourage your child to decorate the binder. They can use stickers, markers, or anything else they can use to personalize it. Fill the binder with paper. If you like, you can also buy a plastic pencil case/pouch that can be stored in the binder so all the child's supplies stay together.
Have them take the book with them where ever they go because you never know when the urge to write or color will hit! They can draw pictures of places they are going or places they have been. They can draw pictures of things they have seen or simply draw abstract designs. You may want to date each page and also write down the child’s description of each picture.
You can have the child work on skills to help them get ready for school, such as writing their names or working with specific colors. You can also help them recognize shapes, numbers, and letters.
