Second Honeymoon? Add Romance to Your Hotel Stay

Go ahead, park the kids with grandma, grab your spouse and take off for a second honeymoon.
Here are ten tips about what you can do to make your trip come out just the way you had hoped.
Most of it centers around your hotel room where, it is hoped, you will spend a good bit of your time.
If you choose Las Vegas as your destination, be cautious about your plans, especially if one of you loves to gamble -- or drink, or dance, or whatever -- and the other one does not.
The idea is not to tire yourself and your partner with lots of activities and outings.
Save your energy.
Focus on who is most important.
Don't let the glitter of the shows and casinos distract you from your romantic mission.
Here are ten nice touches to enhance your experience: 1.
Flowers.
Call the concierge from your home and order flowers and champagne for the room when you arrive.
Pack a couple of nice champagne glasses, just in case you decide to start buying a lot of champagne after you arrive.
2.
Music.
Pack some good mood music.
Bring the iPod and speakers or call ahead to be sure you can play a CD in the room.
3.
Scent.
Find a good scent to infuse in the room.
Some aromatherapy equipment can work, or just spray a little cologne or perfume on a light bulb.
Don't overdo it, though.
That's easy to do, and you may wind up with a car that smells like fabric softener.
4.
Lights.
Pack a plug-in dimmer or two so you'll have more control over the lighting in the room.
At a minimum, bring a sheer scarf that can be draped over a lamp to subdue the light.
5.
Champagne.
At the right moment, pop the champagne.
Go slowly.
6.
Robes.
Buy two, new, matching terry cloth robes -- or be sure the hotel will provide them.
Stay indoors and put them to good use.
7.
Bath Oil.
Find out in advance if the tub has room for two.
Bring bath oil.
(Don't use bubble bath, especially with a jetted tub!) 8.
Massage Oil.
Bring massage oil and use it.
Give your partner some quality time and your undivided attention.
9.
No Alarm.
Sleep late.
You should plan to be up late, and also to lounge around in the bed in the morning.
There's no hurry .
.
.
what do you have that's better to do? 10.
Room Service.
Order breakfast in your room - or brunch if you slept through breakfast -- and lounge around lazily.
A good "plan B" is to buy some pastries and juices the night before and make a continental breakfast on your schedule.
Use the in-room coffee maker.
Second honeymoons should be a whole lot more relaxing than the first ones.
Give yourself that luxury, but be sure to plan ahead to make the getaway a great success for you both.
