Mitsubishi Net-Connected LCD TV at CES 2010
Although 3D seemed to be the main drawing card at CES this year, second place definitely has to go to the convergence of the internet and home theater products.
Net-connected Blu-ray Disc Players and TVs were being displayed by almost all the major home theater-related exhibitors, including Samsung (Samsung Apps), Sharp (Aquos Net), LG, Panasonic (VieraCast), and upstart Vizio (Internet Apps).
Integrating the internet with TV viewing can be a great benefit and convenience to the consumer.
Instead of being tied to a PC, the consumer can now stream internet audio and video content directly to a TV set via a simple wired or wireless internet connection.
Depending on what brand/model TV you have (different manufacturers have partnered with different online content providers), you may be able to access services such as Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon Video On-Demand, Hulu, Vudu, Pandora, and more, directly on your TV,
