APhA Board of Trustees Recommends Name Change
After 150 years as the American Pharmaceutical Association, APhA members will be asked this summer to support a name change. According to the APhA Board of Trustees, American Pharmacists Association better reflects the organization's focus on health care professionals whose contemporary mission is to make medications work for patients. The new name also eliminates public misperception of APhA as being an association of the pharmaceutical industry and is in concert with moves over the past 25 years by APhA's affiliated state associations, the Board noted.
