How to Treat a New Humidor
- 1). Read and follow all directions that come with your humidor regarding its care. Take the humidity device out of your humidor and fill it with distilled water.
- 2). Use a damp sponge to wipe down and clean the inside of your humidor. Gently dry it off with a cloth or rag; do not use a paper towel, as this will leave small pieces behind.
- 3). Ensure that the humidity device has no excess water in it and put it back in the humidor. Place the damp sponge on the sheet of plastic inside the humidor. Close the humidor and do not open it again for around 12 hours.
- 4). Remove and refill the humidity device and take out the sponge and plastic sheet. Close the humidor again and leave it for another 12 hours to ensure that it reaches the correct humidity.
