How to Check Flight Reservations
- 1). Have your reservation number handy. Whenever you book a flight, no matter if it through an airline, a flight website or a travel agent, you will be issued a number confirming your reservation. Having this number will help simplify your search and avoid confusion.
- 2). Get out the credit card you used to book the flight and have it handy as well. While not all do, many airlines will ask for the credit card number as well. This is a way to search their system and cross check against the information they have. Your card will not be charged during this time.
- 3). Visit the website you used to book the flight. Many will have an option to check your reservation. Here you will enter either the confirmation number or your credit card and be told the status of your reservation.
- 4). Phone the airline you are flying on. Work your way through the push-button options and speak to a customer service agent. This person will be able to confirm your status on their airline and make any changes that may need to be enforced if new developments have occurred in your travel plans.
- 5). Contact your travel agent if you used one to book the flight. It is the travel agent's duty to stay on top of changing reservations. This person will handle all the information gathering so you don't have to.
