Vintage Camper Classic Insurance: Van Cover at Reasonable Rates!

If you own a camper classic, insurance for van coverage can seem far too high. After all, you don't drive your nifty VW camper or your Sherpa every weekend, only once in a while, so your mileage is really low. But you want adequate cover to take care of any possible damage to your baby, so the cut-rate insurers don't really offer enough. What do you do?

For most people with a camper classic, insurance for van cover is readily available through camper and vintage automobile clubs. You will almost always get rock-bottom rates by going this route. But there are other ways you can decrease the costs of your vintage insurance.

1. Work directly with your insurance agent. Often, if you're insuring a classic vehicle and already have coverage for your other possessions or cars, you can get a very good deal on additional camper classic insurance. Van rates, though they are sometimes higher than automobile rates, can be reduced to a small fraction of their original cost this way.

2. Restrict driving of your camper classic to just one person: the one with the best driving record. This might not be possible, but if you can guarantee that only the best driver will be navigating your cherished classic, your rates may go down.

3. Shop around, and don't stop shopping after you've bought a policy. Camper classic insurance for van rates can vary widely, and they may change over time. It is to your advantage to cost-compare, and to be constantly vigilant for a better deal than the one you currently have.

4. Don't buy more insurance than you really need. If your classic is weathered and beaten, you may not want full-coverage. If you don't leave possessions in the van or don't haul anything in it, you may not need a possessions rider of any sort.
