Instructions

• Carefully open a large paper grocery bag into a flat piece of paper. Open your book at the center, and lay it flat onto the paper. Draw around it with a pencil. Remove the book. Measure 2 inches above and below the markings. Draw a line across the top and the bottom, at the new measurements. Measure 3 inches at both ends of the book markings. Draw a line at the new measurements, at both ends. Cut the paper, all the way around, at the last lines drawn, creating a rectangle.
  
  Fold the top of the book cover down 2 inches, all the way across. Do the same at the bottom of the cover. Fold in 3 inches at both sides. Place your book, opened, at the center of the paper book cover. Place the front and back covers into the pockets the folds have created. This will keep your book snug and in place.
  
  This type of book cover can also be folded out of decorative paper, wall paper, craft paper and artist paper. Try taking a large piece of watercolor paper and creating a masterpiece with paints. Let it dry and fold it as instructed, above. Create a scrapbook book cover by adding pictures, phrases and decorative paper to the surface.
