Floating Telescopic Boat Hooks

A telescopic boat hook assists a boater or kayaker with launching and docking to retrieving an item washed or dropped overboard, such as a canoe paddle, deck bag, or similar piece of watercraft kit.

A rugged and durable telescoping hook manufactured in a lightweight aluminum material offers a well-balanced, corrosion resistant tool, equipped with vinyl or rubber grips for a firm hold. These retractable tools measure in at 2 to 4-foot in its smallest or compact form, and once pulled out to its full length, expect a size in the region of 7 to 8-foot. To avoid marring a boat the tip (or head) of the tool is coated with a high-impact polyethylene or molded plastic.

The adjustment collar on the shaft often features a plastic rib, as this allows for easier control in adapting to the ideal length, and even permits a firm grip when slippery or wet. Once pulled and tightened, a boat hook offers sufficient strength to remain at the desired length without failing or collapsing at an awkward moment. In addition, due to the lightweight nature of these tools, it is easy to retrieve as it floats.

Instead of stowing a separate hook and paddle in times of emergency or assistance, a combo unit is also available. A telescoping paddle, with paddle at one end and hook at the other, offers the same ease in storage, with the ability to be stowed in storage locker on a small runabout to fitting inside a compact storage compartment on a jet-ski. A great space-saving tool to have on board for a variety of situations.

The telescoping boat hook is a versatile tool for retrieving boating paraphernalia dropping overboard, pulling or pushing off a slip, avoid scrapes against a pier or dock, and all similar jobs when an extended reach is ideal.
