Uninstalling an Adobe Reader Plugin

    Showing Hidden Files in Windows Explorer

    • 1). Right-click "Start" and then click the "Explore" program link from the Windows Start context menu to open Windows Explorer.

    • 2). Click the "Organize" drop-down menu on the top navigation bar of Windows Explorer, and select "Folder and Search Options."

    • 3). Click the "View" tab.

    • 4). Click the radio button labeled "Show Hidden Files and Folders" under the "Hidden Files and Folders" section.

    • 5). Uncheck the options "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" and "Hide Protected Operating System Files (Recommended)." Click the "Yes" button to confirm the operation.

    • 6). Click "OK" to save the settings. Hidden files and file extension will now be visible to the user.

    Uninstalling Adobe Reader Plugin for Internet Explorer

    • 1). Right-click "Start" and then click the "Explore" program link from the Windows Start context menu to open Windows Explorer.

    • 2). Navigate to the following path in the left pane of the Windows Explorer window:

      "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS"

    • 3). Right-click on the file named "nppdf32.dll" and select "Delete" from the context menu. The plugin file will be deleted from the Internet Explorer plugin directory.

    Uninstalling Adobe Reader Plugin for Firefox

    • 1). Right-click Windows "Start" and select "Explore" to open Windows Explorer.

    • 2). Navigate to the following path in the left pane of Windows Explorer:

      "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins"

    • 3). Right-click on the file named "nppdf32.dll" and select "Delete" from the context menu. The plugin file will be deleted from the Mozilla plugin directory.
