Carnival Legend Cruise Report - Page 2

Monday 2/28-Martinique from the Carnival Legend
Had to be the most clean and beautiful island on this cruise. Also the most rude. People barely spoke English and didn't care to try. They were the most unhelpful people. Walked from the cruise terminal to the water ferry which took 15 minutes or so. Took the Somatour ferry line, which I strongly do not recommend, to the other side of the island hoping to find a beach.

They all said private so we found one that was public and felt very out of place. No one spoke English here at all. We went back to the beach at La Kalenda hotel and found that this was where the Carnival people were venturing. Much better. Beautiful beach with a picture perfect setting. Had to be back on the ship by 1:30pm.
Thought we left in plenty of time until we tried to get the ferry back. The boat that brought us over was docked being worked on and would not take us. They kept telling us that another ferry would be coming in 10 min. That ferry would come and they would tell us we had the wrong tickets. This happened to us 4 times. Finally, after 45min. we told the guy working on the boat that he had to get us back to the ship because it was leaving in 30 minutes. He begrudgingly took us and about 20 others back to our ship. This is why I do not recommend this ferry! I do not care to go to Martinique ever again. Beautiful scenery. Rude people!

Tue./Wed. 3-1,2-Days At Sea on the Carnival Legend
Much like the first two days at sea, had a good time and it went entirely too fast!

Thursday 3/3-Debarkation from the Carnival Legend
Had to get off ship early because of an early flight. Wish we would have stayed in Ft. Lauderdale one more night. Debarkation went smooth as could be expected. No good way of doing this. Still, we left in plenty of time to catch our plane.

Overall Opinion of Carnival Legend Cruise
The ship was great! The other two cruises I went on seemed like a younger, party crowd. This cruise, the majority was an older, less active crowd. I'm not sure why. Other than that we all had a great time. We will probably try the W. Caribbean next time, have not been there before. I have done the E. Caribbean though and it was great, even though they don't go to St. Croix anymore. Too bad, that was a fun island.

I'm not sure about the Enchanted Forest on this ship. A little deserted. Arcade was hard to find at first, never very busy because of this. The piano bar was terrible, the lady never knew the entire song. The social hosts Yo Richie and Outback Adam were a ton of fun. They really got people involved. Cruise director Brent was O.K. Not much to say about him. We had a great waiter, Vasile, from Romania who went above and beyond our expectations with his jokes and magic tricks. Our busboy, Anton, was also wonderful. They both made our dining experience memmorable.

Only complaint: desserts were not as good on this ship as on previous ships. But it's not like you really NEED them. Other than that, the buffet food was great and always fresh. Really liked this class of ship and will probably try to sail a similar ship next time. We had a Superb time and will definitely cruise Carnival again. We just love it!!
