How to Arrange a Funeral Spray
- 1). Place the craft foam rectangle in front of you, making sure it is positioned lengthwise.
- 2). Insert the largest blossomed flower, stem side first, into the foam block. Insert the flower into the center of the surface of the craft foam, pushing in until only 2 inches of the step and blossom are showing. Large silk flower ideas include magnolia, sunflowers, Asiatic lilies and others.
- 3). Place two more large flowers at either side of the other, closely. Allow only 2 inches of the flowers to protrude from the surface of the craft foam block.
- 4). Repeat Step 3 with all of the largest flowers in your collection. Place them all over the block on all sides, except for the bottom on which it sits. Use 60 to 90 flowers to create a lush bed of large flowers.
- 5). Insert the small artificial flowers into the surface of the foam block in spaces between the larger flowers. This fills in the gaps in the arrangement, concealing the foam block. Use between 30 and 60 flowers to achieve a filled-out effect. Small silk flower types include tea roses, Shasta daisies, baby's breath and many others.
- 6). Insert the pointed end of a foliage piece into all four corners of the bottom of the floral foam block. This creates a cascading effect. Use large ferns, English ivy or even decorative grasses.
- 7). Surround the entire base of the flower-covered block with the remaining six foliage pieces. This creates an all-around accent of greenery to your funeral spray arrangement.
