How to Make a Book Holder

    • 1). Cut the 1 1/2-inch by 3/4-inch board into two 18-inch lengths, two 9-inch lengths and one 3-inch length. Cut the remaining board into two 5 1/2-inch lengths with a 45-degree angle on one end. Sand any rough edges.

      Align the two 9-inch pieces to the ends of one 18-inch piece, and connect with two screws on each side. On the same side of the 18-inch board that you connected the 9-inch boards, connect the 3-inch board in the center of the 18-inch board using two screws.

      Connect the top 18-inch board on the opposite side you connected the sides and center support.

      Attach the one 5 1/2-inch board to one side directly underneath the top horizontal board, facing the 45-degree angle toward the side board. Attach with two screws, and repeat on the other side.

      Turn the frame over and lean it back so it rests on its "legs."

      Set your book on the bottom ledge with the spine supported by the middle piece.
