Unless you are the parent and it is your child, which is facing the problem, you may not be able to contribute in any way in the treatment of others.
They would be able to consult the team of doctors and decide the best course of action possible in the situation.
The patient can seek support from you in terms of moral support and may be a bit of assistance, but getting through with the entire treatment and other work would have to be done by themselves.
The person has to himself face the situation and emerge winners.
They might have to face touch challenges and might change as a result of the entire experience and it can take a toll on the individual and change his outlook towards life and death.
If you are feeling helpless, you should seek support from others and handle the situation.
Remember, the more you feel better, the more you will be able to care for and support the patient for he or she needs all the support they can get to see this through.
As a friend, there is a lot you can do for the patient.
