Uterine fibroids form a kind of growth that is commonly found among women of all groups. The probability of the occurrence of fibroids may increase in the case of women who are nearing menopause. Many women won't realize the fact that they are having tumour even after suffering from it. Most of the women get fibroid at the time of menopause.

The condition of fibroids can occur due to the production of estrogen in an excessive manner. The actual cause of this is not known and so it is still unclear why the people of a particular age go through this condition. The doctors have seen the fibroids shrinking after the menopause when there is reduction in the production of estrogen. The fibroids can even disappear once you met with menopause. You should consider your family history as it has the major part in determining whether you are susceptible to fibroids or not. If any women in your family have come across such a situation, then you are more likely to get the same problem. Certain races are also prone to this disease. The observations have revealed that Africans are mostly affected with uterine fibroid than any other races. Pregnant women and the women using oral contraceptives are less likely to get affected by fibroid. If the girls reach menstruation period before the age of 10 and if there occurred the conditions of uterine infections and increase in blood pressure then the individuals are more likely to get affected by this fibroid. There is no specific symptom of fibroid and so there are cases where the women won't know about getting affected by this disease. 

Symptoms that Appear on Having of Fibroid

There is less chance for a person to identify that she is going through this fibroid as the symptoms of this disease are much common. Some of the commonly seen symptoms among the patients suffering from fibroid are increase in the blood pressure, severe pain in the pelvic region, pressure over rectum as well as on bladder that may lead to obstruction in urination and also can make defecation painful. 

Diagnosis of Uterine Fibroids

There are various methods through which you may be able to diagnose uterine fibroid and this include pelvic examination, MRI scan, CT scans etc. All these methods can be helpful in determining whether you are going through such a situation.
