CBS Announces 2008-09 Primetime Schedule
Remember when CBS used to be the network that appealed to a much older demographic? And then all of a sudden, this huge crop of cool shows appeared, giving the other networks a run for their money. Since the early days of CSI and Survivor, CBS has been the most watched network on television.
Heading into the 2008-09 season, CBS is sticking to that winning primetime formula by making very few changes to the schedule.
Three new dramas are on tap for the upcoming season and they certainly sound promising....
Canceled:Cane, Jericho, Moonlight, Shark and Viva Laughlin.

The Mentalist
Cast: Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, Robin Tunney as Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon, Tim Kang as Agent Kimball Cho, Owain Yeoman as Agent Wayne Rigsby and Amanda Righetti as Agent Grace Van Pelt.
Premise: An alternative version of Jack Bauer arrives in the form of Patrick Jane, a detective and independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Although Jane has the uncanny ability to get the toughest cases solved, he rarely plays by the rules, constantly breaking protocol. To make matters worse, he pretended to be a psychic medium and gained quite a bit of notoriety for that ability.
When Jane is placed on Senior Agent Teresa Lisbon's unit, she "alternates between reluctantly acknowledging Jane's usefulness and blasting him for his theatrics, narcissism and dangerous lack of boundaries."
Eleventh Hour
Cast: Rufus Sewell as Dr.
Jacob Hood, other cast TBA
Premise: Famed producer Jerry Bruckheimer brings viewers this new series about Dr. Jacob Hood, a biophysicist and special science advisor to the government. Hood spends his life in "pursuit of those who would abuse and misuse scientific discoveries and breakthroughs for their own gain." When the clock is ticking towards disaster, Hood is the guy they call upon in the eleventh hour to save the day.
The Ex List
Cast: Elizabeth Reaser as Bella Bloom, Rachel Boston as Daphne, Adam Rothenberg as Augie, Amir Talai as Cyrus and Alex Breckenridge as Vivian.
Premise: This dramedy follows the life of Bella Bloom, a 30-something businesswoman looking for Mr. Right. When a psychic tells her that she has already dated her future husband and has to find him in the next year or risk remaining alone forever, Bella must revisit every relationship to find the one right guy. Her close-knit group of friends will help Bella on her journey before her time runs out.
