Sir Paul and Ringo Starr Introduce The Beatles Rock Band at Video Game Event
Sir Paul and Mr. Starr made an appearance at the E3 computer game trade conference in LA. They were at the convention to plug the imminent release of the Beatles Rockband game.
Beatles Rock Band will definitely be the hot Beatles Xmas gift of 2009. It could be hard to find around Xmas, so plan ahead and preorder one today.
At the game conference, Paul McCartney kidded,'Whoever thought we would end up as androids?' Starr added, 'The Game is good, the graphics are excellent, and we look great.' McCartney and Starr robotically mocked how their computer game characters walked to no laughter in the game industry audience. I guess they take their games extremely seriously.
The Bands wives Yoko and Olivia Harrison and son Dhani Harrison, and George Martin's son Giles also made brief appearances on the colourful Yellow Submarine-inspired stage.
The Beatles Rock Band game will enable players to step into the boots of the Beatles and play such classic songs like I Wanna Hold Your Hand, I Feel Fine, I am the Walrus, Octopus' Garden, and Get Back. You will be able to hold controllers shaped like the Beatle's instruments including ltd release of Rickenbacker and Gretsch guitars.
With downloadable remastered songs, the video game will be the groups first leap into putting out their songs digitally having previously declined to release their music as MP3s to iTunes and other online sites.
On the same day as the Beatles Rock Band game release, the Beatles will re-release their CDs as new remixed and remastered versions. Judging from the previously reissues of remastered Yellow Submarine and Let it Be Naked, we're all in for a sonic treat. Giles Martin (George Martin's Son) worked on the remixing and announced the remixed Beatles CD catalog release at the E3 Video Game Event.
Ringo and Paul McCartney performed at a New York charity event a few months ago, but appearances together have been sparse since band disolved.
