All About La Tania Ski Resort

The La Tania ski resort is one of the most famous and best-loved in Europe.
But if it's your first visit you may be wondering just what's in store for you once you arrive.
This article may go some way to helping.
The location This lovely little place is located in the famous "Three Valleys" - the largest ski leisure area in the world.
It sits at around 1400m between Courchevel and Meribel, though it's a little younger than either of its neighbours.
There are plenty of great skiing opportunities to suit all levels of expertise and interests.
What makes it different? The La Tania ski resort has a 'no cars' policy in the centre, which means it's largely skiing 'to the door'.
It has a reputation of being family friendly and is therefore generally immune from some of the posing and one-upmanship that can sometimes be found in some places (no names!).
What's the skiing like? It also has a large number of snow cannons, which means good snow is relatively guaranteed other than in very unusual conditions.
It has about 150kms of slopes, although you really need to also consider the slopes of the other resorts as well, giving a total closer to 600kms.
You won't be short of choice - the statistics to prove it include: 10 black runs; 41 red runs; 39 blue runs; 21 green runs.
There's also a healthy range of other snow sports available too.
Getting there The nearest airports to access La Tania ski resort are Chambery or Lyon.
You can also fly to Grenoble or Geneva but the transit times from there will be around three hours or a little more.
Keep in mind that if you fly into Italy, your only real option will be the Mont Blanc tunnel and that might add time and cost.
You could also get a train from Lyon to Moutier then a bus.
That involves changes of course, so be sure that your equipment will be accepted by the public transport services.
Après-Ski The after-dark social scene here is considered moderately lively though not necessary excessive.
There is also usually a ski bus that runs every half an hour or so to link with Courchevel and Meribel if you'd like a change.
Keep in mind, though, that bus services and related facilities may depend upon the season and things change.
So, check up on evening transfers in advance if they're forming part of your partying plans.
Prices It has to be accepted that the prices of drinks and food on winter holidays can't ever really be described as "cheap".
It's a fact of life and one reason it might be sensible to consider catered chalet options.
However, the La Tania ski resort has a reputation of being a little more pocket-friendly than, say, Courchevel.
There are various websites you can use to check the price of everyday food and drink items before you depart if you'd like to do some advance budgeting.
