Digital Photography Tips - Getting The Most Out Of Your Camera

I love digital cameras because of the fact that I don't have to pay insane prices for film and developing and can pretty much take as many photos as I like.
However, one thing I don't like about digital cameras is that the batteries die faster than a chic flick at a nunnery.
Some cameras are so hard on your battery that after about 20 photos, they're dead.
Well, this article is going to give you three tips on getting the most out of your picture taking experience without having to pull the hair out of your head in the process.
The first tip is to only turn on your camera when you are ready to take the photo.
This will save enormously on battery life.
So many people walk around with their cameras on all the time.
This is a sure way to run out of life before you've even got your first dozen photos taken.
Some cameras have auto shut offs but they don't work instantly and do take a while to pop off.
So manually shut your camera after each photo.
The second tip is to carry extra batteries with you.
If you're going on a long shoot, such as a hike through the woods and you're expecting to be out for hours taking nature photos (I do this once in a while) they make sure you have at least three or four sets of batteries with you.
You're certainly going to go through more than one set if you're taking a lot of photos.
Also, you want to make sure that the batteries you use are rechargeable batteries.
This will save you tons of money down the road.
The third tip is to bring a portable generator with you.
Don't laugh.
You can get these relatively cheap...
a lot cheaper than shelling out hundreds of dollars on batteries.
Plug the camera in and never have to worry about running out of battery power.
There are portable generators that can fit in your camera bag with no problem at all.
This way you can concentrate on taking photos and not on your battery dying.
Naturally, you want to make sure you have a big enough memory card in your camera to hold all the photos you want to take, but that's the subject of another article.
Follow these few simple tips and you'll never have to worry about your camera fizzing out on you in mid flash.
