How to Calculate Path Loss Factor

    • 1). Find the distance the signal has to travel. Call this "d."

    • 2). Note the wavelength of the signal, call this "L." This should be measured in the same unit as d.

    • 3). Multiply d by 4*pi, or approximately 12.5664.

    • 4). Divide the result by L. This gives the loss in decibels.
